Privacy Policy

Velor ("we", "us") operates the Velor online store — a curated archive of pre-owned designer fashion. We are the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy.

• Customer and contact details — your name, email address and phone number, which you provide when placing an order or contacting us.
• Delivery information — the delivery address you enter at checkout.
• Order information — the items you order (including colour and size/variant), quantities, prices, delivery fees, order numbers and order status.
• Payment-related information — payments are processed by our payment provider. We receive a payment reference and confirmation of whether the payment succeeded. Velor does not collect or store your card number, CVV or banking credentials.
• Website and device information — standard technical information such as browser type and the essential local storage described in the Cookies section below.
• Seller submissions — if you submit an item through Sell With Velor, we collect the details you provide in that form (name, email, phone, item details and photos).

• To process and deliver your orders, and to arrange collection where you choose studio collection.
• To take and verify payment, issue order confirmations and handle returns and refunds.
• To respond to your questions and requests, including privacy requests.
• To review Sell With Velor submissions and contact you about them.
• To keep records required to run the store and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

We share personal information only with the providers we need to run the store:

• Payment provider — processes your payment and handles your card details. We never receive or store raw card details.
• Delivery providers / couriers — receive the delivery details needed to ship your order.
• Storefront and hosting platform — our store runs on the Base44 platform, and our product catalogue and checkout data are processed through Shopify and Stripe respectively.
• Email service — used to send order confirmations and the emails described in this policy.

These providers process information on our instructions for the purposes above. If we ever add marketing communications, we will only send them with your consent, and every message will include a way to opt out.

We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all store traffic and restricted access to order data. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat the security of your information seriously and review our practices as the store grows.

We keep order and customer information for as long as reasonably required for the purposes described above — including handling returns, keeping accounting records, and meeting legal obligations — and then delete or de-identify it. Seller submissions are kept while your item is under review and for a reasonable period afterwards, then removed.

Subject to POPIA and applicable law, you have the right to:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction or deletion of your personal information.
• Object to or request restriction of certain processing.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

The Velor store keeps its use of tracking to a minimum. We use essential browser storage only: your bag contents and your language preference are saved on your own device so the store works as you use it. Your payment session is handled by our payment provider under their own security practices. We do not use third-party advertising cookies at this time; if that changes, this policy and a cookie notice will be updated before they are set.

The Velor store is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy as the store evolves. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version, and material changes will be highlighted on this page.
